The Soviet made MIG 23 of the now defunct Somali Air Force. It is beyond human imagination to grasp the magnitude of the destruction that has taken place in Somalia in the last decade or so! It will probably take decades to rebuild the Somali Armed Forces but it is task that must begin now rather than later. President Cabdullahi Yuusuf and his government must speed up the rebuilding process so that both internal and external threats to Somalia’s national security can be averted.
